Tell that to people who lived through what happened in Bosnia.

Ask any of them how much advance warning they had or if anyone expected it.

Look, prepping is a fun hobby and I recommend it.

But pretending that we're on the brink of some major cataclysm is a trick used to keep depressed people depressed and dreaming of a future that will never come. It pacifies them and promises that their salvation will come if they'll just wait and hold out while all their enemies will somehow wipe themselves out.

You can't wait for life to magically become better. You have to make it better and the best way to do that is to look at what your enemy doesn't want you to do and discourages you from doing.

I am very close friends with a couple that grew up as kids in Bosnia. The wife became friends with my wife and it turned my wife around 180 when it came to having any reservations about prepping. Talk about some fucking horror stories.
