Archived American Slavery statistics question (whatever)
submitted 2.3 years ago by Speakfree
Hello all,
Ive heard peak slavery ownership was ~1.5% for Americans and about 40% for Jewish Americans. It also makes sense many people saw slaves as competition that devalued the average worker.
I have been digging into census data but am not able to recreate these numbers.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
