Why does the new Star Trek: Canada suck? Because it violates one of television's prime directives - neutral accents
The one thing Star Trek Voyager, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine etc. had was consistency - everyone spoke with a perfect neutral accent.
I feel my ears are under attack on ST: Canada because of the parochial accents used by extras and local actors.
Dear God there must be others with whom this drives them crazy!?
Edit: The BC accent was perfect for Battletstar Galactica. Kept everything consistently off-kilter, as it was supposed to be.

I stppped watching half-way thru the first episode, where amongst many other feminist & SJW snafus, the producers decided to give the 'evil' klingon empire the 'look'(visual aesthetic)of the romans as they were when the roman empire was at its peak.

Lol when someone mentions BC and 'accents' the first thing that pops into my head was saul tigh grumbling... the whole "mmmmmmbutwhataboot...." thing and youre right it all worked well there was nothing polished or diplomatic about the state of the galactica cast by the time they got to that er... can remember what that refugee camp run by toasters thing was, as opposed to the old hollywood ripped shirt and bloodied lip after 5 minutes off ship of star trek.
