Composure is a strange social problem. Slouching is quietly frowned upon, standing up straight attracts attention from weird people who dont like outliers.

Ive had several women demand i stop standing up straight, even going so far as to lay their hands on me and try to drag me into, whatever they think is correct.

I suspect that they dont like it if you make their current toy/slave/wallet look bad while they dont have reasonable grounds to monkey branch.

Where the fuck are you hanging out where women are physically grabbing you to alter how you stand?

Can confirm; absolutely true.

I suspect that they dont like it if you make their current toy/slave/wallet look bad while they dont have reasonable grounds to monkey branch.

Also true. Always the ones with slouches for boyfriends/husbands.

I'm tall and naturally well built. I take pride in my posture, presence, and reaction to it.

I refuse to apologise or dim who I am for others comfort.

Would that be better or worse than if he tried to pull a hair off your head and floss with it?

Hrm, its true, but personally I find it difficult to remain in a non-slouching posture. Its like I have to constantly make a conscious effort to stand up straight, the moment I stop thinking about my posture I naturally go back to a slovenly slouch. One of the fun side effects of clinical depression. The weird thing is, your posture affects your mood. So if I could learn to stand straight naturally I would probably brighten up also.

I've been there and I feel for you.

Are you worth it? Are you worth being happy?

The military teaches the concept of "bearing"; basically, it's how you physically carry yourself. You spend most of your early military career standing at attention- what is that stance? Straight back, chest out, head high, chin tucked, arms at sides- after a while, it becomes second nature.

It's about dignity, discipline, self-control, and projecting your presence. After training, women took a great deal more interest in me; perhaps part of it was because I was projecting confidence with my stance? I certainly was a sloucher as a teen, and I didn't have a whole lot of luck.

You are correct.

I experienced the same thing.

When I was a teen, I couldn't pick up girls for shit. Now I can confidently pickup teenage girls. It's an art. Projecting yourself is an art.

They are a very heavy burden after all. Try pulling dead weight and keeping good posture.

"Tuck your wings in." - gramps

Then he'd smack my back with a yardstick.

Never forgot that lesson. Always stand out in a crowd because of it.
