Little known fact is that GW was the state of Virginia's, and possibly the entire 13 colonies, largest producer of alcohol.
He decided early on in his planting career that Virginia's top crop at the time (1750's) tobacco was not sustainable, and since he had plenty of water available at Mount Vernon on the Potomac, he would grow barley and rye, and then he set up the largest whiskey distillery in the colonies just up the river in Alexandria with which to make it.

Secret ingredient: British tears.

I like the idea, but their smarmy patriotic sales pitch was a turnoff. I guess its hard to make a sales pitch and not sound like an insincere scrooge mcduck.

Yes, since InBev is a brewing company that resulted from the merger between Belgium-based company Interbrew and Brazilian brewer AmBev that bought Anheuser-Busch and then SABMiller, but then sold the MillerCoors beer company to Molson Coors and sold many of the European brands to Asahi Breweries, almost none of the "domestic" major brands are domestic. The patriotic pitch is totally marketing.

Mostly, but at least they're still brewed in the states and employ loads of people, so that's nice at least.
