Seems there's been a lot of buzz about the character Apu in The Simpsons lately, and now everyone is magically okay because Hank Azaria said he would be comfortable with the role being played by an actual Indian person. I also recently read about a white actress who said she wouldn't play a Latino character. That's all well and good for blacks and latinos, but at what point does it become racist for white people to be played by black actors? At what point does a black actor turn down a role because they don't feel comfortable playing a white character? My guess is never. It'll never happen.
