So I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Laquan Mcdonald case, but I'll give you a quick run down or you can just Google it. Anyway, black guy. Shot by police. Everyone cried racism and police brutality. Anyone with half a brain or who actually reads details knows this shooting was pretty justified (was holding a knife, gang member, suspect of a robbery, attacked a police vehicle during the attempted arrest. the list goes on forever) so after they awarded his mammy 5 million dollars (even though she literally gave him up when he was 3 to foster care) the family fought for the dash cam video to be released. After it was, the city was in a state of unrest for months. Protests, marches all kinds of bullshit. Then the craziest part happened. The city actually charged the cop with murder. First time in Chicago history a cop has been charged with murder for an on duty shooting. Personally, I think the whole thing was to pacify a city on edge, but now they're in an even bigger mess. Either this cop gets found not guilty and the black community goes fucking insane, or he gets found guilty and the Chicago Police Department does whatever it is they plan to do. Now a few months ago I might have rolled with the idea that the CPD might take the conviction of one of their own on the chin, but a few months back a beloved Chicago Police Commander named Paul Bauer was shot by a black guy who was robbing a Starbucks. The entire police force mourned this guy, and then less than a year later the city is gonna tell every cop "Sorry, you can't shoot bad guys anymore cuz racism"? Hell. No. Cops are not gonna play that shit. They're either gonna crack down on the thugs super hard or stop policing altogether. Shit is gonna get nuts. Oh, and did I mention this is all supposed to go to trial in the middle of summer? Perfect storm type shit shaping up.
