Honestly, because I liked the idea that I could have discussion here without so much circlejerking. I regularly see fantastic news stories on my front page that I would never have seen otherwise

It was the trolls, the unwillingness to listen to problems (Admins), the stories about how certain Mods were treated and the whole Victoria firing, the whole angry and hateful atmosphere that surrounded Ellen Pao (not that a lot of it wasn't deserved.)...and the last straw was all the sudden you had to worry about what Subs you were affiliated with and what you posted. They have blanket banned so many people that it has become a real worry for a lot of people who were long time Redditors.
I noped out of there like spiders were dropping from the ceiling and snakes covered the floor.

Multiple reasons. I hoped that the people that chose to cross over would be less likely to include reddit circlejerkers because I think they are too dimwitted to even find this place let alone consider leave reddit. Why would they? They've already tattoo'd a snoo on their arm and it's probably what they'll name their children. This is a clean slate and I need to be here to make sure it doesn't become infested with SWJs, cute animals and endless image macros involving sad looking bears.
Also it's an opportunity to be an early adopter and rise in popularity faster.
I couldn't endorse the censorship. I still poke my head in, mostly for the smaller communities, like for my favorite game, dicemasters. But I'm definitely not giving them any more ad revenue.

SJWs. SJWs everywhere.
And sorry if that statement triggered anyone. Apologies for raping you with my comment or oppressing you.

The readiness to dismiss freedom of speech in the name of political correctness.
I also think that the people who'll make the effort to move over to Voat are likely to be the more interesting party.

I would not stand by while blatant censorship was happening.
