Your job is to protect and serve, but you are not legally bound to do your job. That's every job, isn't it? You can be fired for not doing it, but you are not legally bound TO do it. I am contracted through job description, etc. to perform tasks X, Y, and Z . I am not legally bound to do X, Y or Z, but if I don't I won't be employed long.
So, to parrot your question, did the Supreme Court rule that cops can blow away anyone acting weird or playing pretend?
All I am asking for is discretion and restraint before using deadly force. Could a Taser have worked? Could talking have worked? Could any other action other than "John McLain wannabe" worked?
