Is that it's basically the bullies trying to shift the blame from themselves onto guns. They just want to be able to bully with impunity, without fear, without the potential fallout from taking it too far with an already unstable kid.
Who you're looking at on the TV screens aren't the victims. They're the bullies.
And it's a lot easier to shift the focus onto the already ostracized and unpopular than to focus on the ones who have the power. Bullies often operate with the tacit approval of the school. That's a dirty little secret- too often, they're not nobodies. They don't have the self-confidence issues the 90s PSAs would have had you believe, not any more so than any other teenager, at any rate.
Keep that in mind.

Basically. They just are whining it's unfair that he went off on them. Everyone was playing hot potato with their favorite punching bag until one day he snapped, to what should be no one's great surprise.
