I agree. These idiots love common core, so we should give these lazy fucks an exam on the bill and pass with a 90% before they can vote on it.

The congressional black caucus would cry racism, they wouldn't ever be able to vote again.

Making it mandatory for every senator/rep or an aide at least to read the bill before it can be voted on would be great.

No aides, they themselves have to read it. Otherwise they’ll just hire more aides that our taxpayers will have to pay for

The problem with that is is would lead to a new filabuster style strategy. People would just say a bill can't be voted on yet because they haven't read it yet and effectively kill it.

Now if we made it required that each bill be read aloud in session that would work. Plus it helps out people who can't read like Maxine Waters.

It's 2000+ pages because these fuckers are too lazy to work year round and do things in smaller pieces. Not only should there be a "Read the Bills Act" there should be a "Limit the Bills Act" like, 15 items or less, not the whole fucking store crammed into one grocery cart.

Or a "slow it down act" requiring a minimum of 1 week of review time plus an additional day for each page of any bill introduced before it can be voted on. Pages will be counted when standard font, spacing, kerning, indentation, etc. is applied to them, a 1 billion word bill printed on 1 page will be reformatted to standards for counting pages. Any updates to the bill reset the process. For example, this piece of shit would be in review for 2,238 days, or over six years, before they could start voting on it. Misspell a word and find out on day 1500? Fuck you, start over.

Texas State Legislature is specifically part-time so these fuckers can't do a bunch of bullshit and have to go get a real job.

Democracy is broken by the lack of social cohesion. Its hard to see a way the societal conflicts we now face being resolved peacefully, the dysfunction in parliamentary systems across the west is evidence of the growing failure of peacefulness.

Democracy is mob rule. America is meant to be a Republic of Free White Men.

As a republic our system is a stagnating, inefficient mess.

Those representing us don't see the urgency. The congressmen from my state are busy pushing for gun control and taking care of illegals. These people are so out of touch with reality it's disgusting.

Said the nobody about his rulers. I'm sure they care how "out of touch" you think they are.

In all likelihood riders make up over 90% of its ponderous bulk.

Yes it is. One example is how all politicians are forced to sign a pact with Israel just like Paul did.

Because I have no clue about what you are saying, will you please enlighten me? I always thought he was a straight shooter (as much as a politician can be).

Broken implies not working as intended. If he thinks things aren't working as intended, he's pretty naive.

What is to stop a senator from reading the whole thing out loud in the senate? If the bill is too long, it turns into a filibuster.
