You are right. According to the hype, Large quantity dealers are up for a death penalty. These are the privateers.

The highest quantity dealers are big pharma and their quack doctors that are handing out oxy like they are beads at Mardi Gras. No death penalty or even charges for them. Just the people who can't afford a doctor to get their fix and the people that sell to these poor fuckers.

The war on drugs is a war in the American citizen. The drug war has been raging 60 years now, it so effective you can get drugs in every city, town and village, coast to coast. Excellent use of resources...

Pot has nothing to do with opioids. You cant just tell a heroin addict here, smoke this pot and youll feel fine. It doesnt work that way.

Opioid addicts don't start out as heroin junkies, they start out as medical patients that need pain relief. Weed, which has yet to kill anyone ever since that dawn of man, is an alternative. But there is little profit in that, so they are given the deadly, side effect riddled, highly addictive pharmaceutical.

Cool story. So give a heroin addict a joibt, and see if it satisfies them.

But you can offer them the alternative up front, and let them make an informed decision if they wish to vape some THC with it's known side effects, or wish to take opioids, with it's known side effects.

Edit: For those already addicted to heroin, then yes, that's another discussion which has nothing to do with legalizing weed.

A heroin junkie will not be satisfied with thc. Period. It's a ridiculous argument.

But weed's not muh heroin..... Yeah well, Kratom acts similarly to opioids, psychedelics, specifically Psilocybin containing mushrooms can be very therapeutic as well, helping overcome addiction.... Ayahuasca has been used to help end addiction....

Here's an idea, leave people the fuck alone, don't fuck with their drugs, don't fuck with their guns, and trust that they've got enough good sense not to destroy everything....... It's not like you can say you can trust the motherfuckers sitting on the launch codes either... Might some more people die if drugs were decriminalized, probably initially, and then overdose, use, and abuse rates will slowly start declining until they hit some low percentage.

You can't cure an opiate addiction with weed, they're completely different drugs! It's like saying legalize cocaine to get people off of meth.

It only works if you offer it as an alternative before the introduction of opiods.

If someone was on opiates they could just get a presciption for medical marijuana instead, it's not like recreational use would need to legalized to help those people. What really would need to happen is physicians being more responsible with what they prescribe. The free market could also provide less addictive alternatives to opiates, but I'm sure Big Pharma wouldn't want that.

What’s more, if Trump really cared about the opioid crisis, he’d end the Afghan war which is responsible for flooding the market with heroin.

This is a good point though. The War in Afghanistan is benefiting the military-industrial-complex and dope-pushers. What is it doing for Americans? Afghanistan sells their resources to Chinese companies right under our feet so we aren't getting jack shit.

This idea of killing drug dealers has been tried before. The problem is if the death penalty is involved it gives the drug dealer more incentive to kill others to wrap up loose ends rather then letting them live. So basically its a good way to make drug dealers even more brutal then they already are.

I really don't think killing American citizens is the solution
