You think it's a good idea to take the food stamp system which leverages existing production, management, storage, and distribution created by the market...
And replace part of it with fifty redundant systems for those tasks run by fifty-one different governments in a system begging for corruption
And you think that this will save money because of a mythical level of fraud primarily supported by anecdotes and stereotypes you read on the internet.
I don't believe you, to say the least

Not sure what the fifty redundant systems part of this is, but I assume you are talking about the Trump plan to replace some or all of SNAP benefits with meal kits.
I don't think it needs to be state run (I actually don't think it is needed at all but that is another matter) so I do not see why it would need to be more than one organization. If we are going to have SNAP, it should be just meal kits that are healthy and cost efficient. EVERYONE has a story about people abusing food stamps, at least this way if they abuse the system it is a much lower costed system. The MSM is acting like it is Trump telling the people what to eat, but there is no reason why they can't have a system where they request certain meal kits each month or even just go and pick out the meal kits they want.
Anytime people advocate for continuing to just throw money at a problem rather than make it more cost effective, you should be suspicious.

The thing is it won't be more cost effective. We would be nationalizing a food distribution system that is currently privatised. That will cost more.

Possibly, but it is at least worth looking into. At the very least we should restrict SNAP to only certain items that are used to make cost effective yet healthy meals. You shouldn't be able to buy lobster with food stamps.
