A 'path to citizenship' is not citizenship. Don't get confused into thinking they are the same thing.
A path to citizenship is legally just saying X can apply to be a citizen. It does not exclude X from being vetted and potentially deported for failing to meet the standards. It does not guarantee work visa or resident aliens status. It's an empty gesture.
DACA circumvented the normal procedures for acquiring citizenship. If DACA receipents were forced to properly apply for citizenship, even with today's lenient standards, the majority would end up deported. This is why the Democrats are pissed because they know Trump is offering them a sham deal.

The president chooses his words carefully even when he's shitposting. Biding time till DACA officially expires is also an option because it is gone in March.
Interestingly, if illegals could be tricked enmasse into applying for citizenship it would completely expose the network of NGO sponsers and employers helping them with no extra effort from ICE.
Laws? You mean the ones for you and me. But not them or their enablers. You and me are being discriminated against in a huge way. You could even call it tyrannical.
I mean, the only reason I wanted the border wall in the first place was to shame Mexico. I don't actually believe it is a good use of money in the first place, land mines are far more practical and affordable a deterrent.
This whole thing reeks of a setup from the get go.

All they have to do is fine businesses bigly for employing illegals and this crap would be over in a year.

Nah, sentence a shareholder to 40 hours using a leaf blower for every illegal employee. Now that would end that shit real quick.

There are millions of illegal aliens who don't give a fuck about citizenship. They must be stopped physically.
