Either way, this guy was never a janitor or a ‘maintenance’ man. He’s a college graduate who got hired by Nintendo, and worked his way up.
Its not uncommon for an early game developing company, to take ideas from employees. I know Sierra used people from accounting for voice work in some of their games. Obviously this guy went even farther, but lieing about his origins with the company doesn’t do anything for his story.
