Is this where I say 'Thanks Obama"? Seriously that shit should be made here, where we invented it and be available to anyone who needs it. Good wishes to her.

Not just made here, but made in 3 different locations to prevent something like earthquakes, hurricanes/tornadoes and floods stopping the production.

They can vote all they want, but they aren't in the electoral college.

Puerto Rico is part of the United States. Whenever you hear about national anything, like single payer health care, remember was Congress had done to Puerto Rico and vote no.

Thanks. The gifs help, but you know how it is when the heavy shit comes down. And the biggest problem with doing something with my life is I don't really want to do anything with my life. I dunno,I guess I could poop out on-line videos or something. I got a lot of basics down that a lot of people don't seem to have. Bad parenting is really a problem.

I had a lot of trouble from being raised by a single mother but I got that worked out. My understanding is that the same system works for people who had weak fathers, not just absent. If that's your problem I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.

Don't want to do anything with your life? That's just because you haven't found what you want to do yet. Look around and do a little research. See what you find interesting and focus on that. Don't pick something at random. Find something you truly love. It's never too late to go back to school. I'm in my late 30s and working on my doctorate now and I'm one of the oldest people in the class. I don't feel too bad because there are two people in the class that are in their 50s.

Your sister has diabetes and you clearly spend a lot of time worrying about her and taking care of her. Perhaps something in the medical field would make you happy. Think about it. You could save lives. It seems like something you could truly be passionate about.

Wish fulfilled. I remember you showing me something like this once so allow me to return you the favor.

First, realize your love of your sister fuels your fear of losing her. Your fear fuels your hate of globalism.

Second, take you hatred of globalism and turn it inside out. Give your hate a sex change so that it comes out as a love of localism. Rotate yourself 180 degrees or until you take the most positive heading.

Third, you can't get something for nothing - service or sacrifice. You know the feeling you get when you give someone a present they aren't expecting but you know they're going to truly be excited with it? Well, you should it's christmas. Take that feeling and run with it.

Nothing is created or destroyed; it only changes form - all information is preserved in the process and so anything can be reconstructed if it were ever actually needed again. And don't worry, the universe didn't create you or your sister for nothing.

I smell lies. Type 1, yeah that sucks. But healthy habits and medication help you to a normalized life. Developing type 2 at 16... and utter pancreatic failure at 40? Mmmmm no. There is more to this story.

Side effects of diabetic meds.

Ah. The paradox of asking people to send well wishes to a stranger in peril while showing no empathy to strangers in peril. Puerto Rico is a US territory - basically an owned state with no true voting rights and representation. Just figureheads. Any fault in their infrastructure not being back up is on the people of the US. I feel for your sister, truly. The people of PR also deserve our best wishes and actual action. The death tolls conveniently leave out all the people dying because hospitals ran out of generator fuel or patients who can't get to their basic meds - like diabetes medications. I wish your sister and all the people of Puerto Rico the best.

Thank you for your condolences,my sister is improving so hopefully everything will work out.

I don't think you understand the problem. PR is not suffering from a lack of action on our end. PR is suffering because one mayor refuses to move the supplies she's been getting out. She's got so many supplies, they're stockpiling them in a sports stadium. They just sit there and don't get moved out. SHE is stopping all of it from going forward. This is not a matter of hating PR's people. It's about hating one person who's fucking up everything for everyone. It's about bad government doing bad shit. I don't hate the people of PR for anything other than letting that bitch remain in power. Which they shouldn't do for their own good as much as everyone else's.

The mayor of San Juan has supplies in a stadium that is acting as a hub for volunteers. They have a distribution problem as roads and infrastructure are out and there are a shortage of drivers. It's a logistical nightmare that can't really be put on one person.

Bad kidneys? Is there any chance of a transplant? Hopefully so, because that would help her a lot.

I know she's sick right now, but as soon as she starts to feel a little better, encourage her to try to get as much exercise as possible to help control her blood sugar. Little known fact, skeletal muscle doesn't require insulin to remove sugar from the bloodstream during exercise. If the muscles need glucose because it's being burned rapidly, they increase the number of existing GLUT4 receptors on the cell surfaces, resulting in increased facilitated diffusion to remove glucose from the blood. Aerobic exercise should hopefully help her stay a little healthier while waiting for help. This isn't a solution, but it should buy her some time by keeping her blood sugar lower. (Sorry about the biology lesson. I'm a nerd.)

The type 1 and type 2 combination is really rough on a person. Hopefully she recovers from the food poisoning soon. Hang in there.

She does all that. It's just her pump wasn't working right. Now that it's fixed, she was getting better. Thankfully, the docs cleaned her up and she's getting better again. Hopefully her kidneys will recover on their own.
