"that flu shot bullshit" is exactly right. No one knows ahead of time which strains of flu will be predominant in any given year...it's just a huge money make for the drug companies.

They grow the virus in "chicken-soup" and, Surprise! the virus mutates to attack chickens.

The virus becomes "impotent" against humans, and we produce no antibodies.

It's a scam to inject metals like aluminium and mercury into healthy individuals who are getting the shot "for the greater good"

Asking as a noob, do you have a source on this

I am wondering why they don't just grow it is cell culture using recombinant DNA. It's practically like making beer in big vats, and you get exactly the protein you want. The market for it would be huge. People would pay a lot for a top-20-strain flu immunization that actually works.

Not to rain on your delusional parade of ignorance but they get the virus for the vaccine from its source before it spreads to other countries in time to know which strain they'll likely be fighting in the upcoming season.

In the rural parts of China where they still bring their livestock into the home for the winter the virus has its opportunity to spread to humans and adapt. This is where the various strains get their laymen names like swine flu and bird flu. So after the strain mutates/adapts for human transmission the doctors collect samples and send those to labs in more developed areas too be created into the coming year's vaccine.

It's not perfect prediction but it is enough of to greatly reduce the impact of the disease.

And that is why countless hundreds of millions of Chinese died from the flu each year.

Your post is total crap; I'm not the delusional one. Your made-up story is laughable - no one is going to China to collect samples for producing flu vaccine. If you want to read some science on the subject, try this.

her upper management team probably designed the paper to ensure that she is pushing flu vaccines on everyone. i'm pretty sure either hospital is making a mint off the shots or someone higher up is getting guidance from up higher.

On a watch list? LOL. Unlikely. It's probably more like at McDonald's where they ask if "you want fries with that?" They're required to ask.

Fuck that. The Marines had nasal spray flu vaccines, and I shot that shit into the air. I was boarded out over severe nerve damage from the yellow fever vax, like hell I was taking anything they gave me after that.

Fuck that noise. I get my flu shot every year. If I don’t get it? I get sick as fuck. I’ll be getting my flu shot December 13. I guess some people have good luck with it and some people don’t. Additionally a flu shot is what? $25 tops? My Medicaid pays for everything.

As far as I can tell, The Independent does not link to the study in question, but it looks like it was this one, from the British Journal of Medicine, titled "Vitamin D supplementation to prevent acute respiratory tract infections: systematic review and meta-analysis of individual participant data."

Relevant extracts:

Objectives To assess the overall effect of vitamin D supplementation on risk of acute respiratory tract infection, and to identify factors modifying this effect.

...

Design Systematic review and meta-analysis of individual participant data (IPD) from randomised controlled trials.

...

Results 25 eligible randomised controlled trials (total 11 321 participants, aged 0 to 95 years) were identified.... Vitamin D supplementation reduced the risk of acute respiratory tract infection among all participants (adjusted odds ratio 0.88...).

Key notes:

  1. This was examining acute respiratory tract infection, not just influenza. This includes things like the "common cold" and pneumonia.
  2. This was a meta-analysis, not an actual study - meaning they examined other real studies that had information on people's Vitamin D doses and respiratory tract infections. This paper did not involve any scientists giving any vitamin D to any people.
  3. Vitamin D supplements were found to reduce the risk of an acute respiratory tract infection by 12%.

So... if the study's result is true, and you aren't going to catch a cold or get pneumonia or anything, Vitamin D might reduce your chances of getting the flu by 12%.

Compare the actual results to The Indepentent's headline of

Vitamin D supplements 'the key to beating colds and flu', study finds"

and first sentence of

More than three million people across the UK could stave off infections such as colds or flu every year if everyone took Vitamin D supplements, experts have said.

... laughably misleading reporting.

I usually don't bother because I'm not an at-risk person and I don't interact much with old people or kids.

fun fact: being in a room with many children for an extended period of time will probably make you sick regardless of vaccinations because at least one of them has something to share. I tend to skip office meetings with large crowds for similar reasons. being stuck next to one person coughing for an hour will get you.

I write letters for my patients so they don't have to get the flu shot. And I do it gladly. I, myself, have suffered the horrible effects of the flu shot. I was FORCED to get it so that I could work shifts in the ER. Within an hour of getting it I began to feel very fatigued. I woke in the middle of the night with extremely sharp stabbing pains in my abdomen and head. I then began vomiting. This continued on and off for the next 3 days. Ten days later I woke in the middle of the night with shortness of breath and a heart rate of 170-180. This continued for about 6 hours. I had lab work done the next morning with a specific focus on my thyroid function. My TSH was sky high! I have never had thyroid problems before. I consulted a colleague who is a functional medicine doctor ( I am one now) who helped me get rid of the mercury (thimersol). My thyroid issues resolved in about 6 weeks. I have started asking ALL of my patients about onset of symptoms/chronic issues with regards to the flu shot. And many are reporting similar stories as mine. I have found that the people who get the flu have really shitty immune systems to begin with.
