I had a tree that's on its last legs and is near the power lines. I love cutting trees down, but not near power lines.
Usually, it's a several month wait for the power company to send someone out to do it.
What you do is you call them up on a Friday and say, "I have a buddy coming up from Massachusetts. He's got a chainsaw and he'll take 'er down for me. I just wanted to let you know."
They will be there by Monday. This works every time I've tried it. They just rang my bell and are going to go cut the tree down, chip it, and haul it away. They're going to cut a few others back.

Great plan! It's like asking for advice online...
You don't ask, you tell everyone the (in)correct way to do it and you'll have people staying up all night to refute you and deliver you with the correct methodology.
Thanks for doing the work for me, internet!

Yeah that's not actually how you do research on the internet, I've been up all night researching the correct ways so I'll let you know how to do it now.....

actually you are supposed to call them a nigger, before proclaiming you solved the problem.

Definitely works for any Linux related question. Just say how much easier it is to do what you want in Windows and you'll get 20 different ways to do it.

I honestly thought you were going to suggest stealing Christmas ornaments from friends' and family's trees.
