He did do one thing wrong, he lost. Was he entirely responsible? I don't think so.

He should have finished his rearmerment program first. The Germans needed 300 U-boats to cut off england, they had 70. They also had no where near enough industrial capacity to go head to head with even the Soviet Union.

If he would have played the long game and waited another 20 years he would have had millions apon millions of military aged males to call into service.

waited another 20 year

There is no such thing as "20 years" in the political climate and the balance of powers that was. He chose the best of the bad options he had.

I'm inclined to agree, but I have recently humoured this possibility:

Hitler always hated the communists; that much is clear from his writings and speeches. However, he allied Germany with the USSR at the beginning of WWII in order to reduce the probability of war when he marched on Poland to free the brutalized Germans from the stolen territory. Operation Barbarosa was launched to claim western territory for its resources (and maybe workers), but it was also in some ways a tactical necessity -- the operation began during the only season where it could have been successful, and it was successfully...at first. Then winter came and ruined their chances, but had he delayed the Russians would have had opportunity to pre-emptively strike and apply pressure on the eastern front much sooner than inevitably was the case. Plus I think attacking the communists with which he allied himself initially resonates better with his rhetoric.

The operation was a failure, but I'm not entirely convinced the decision was a mistake.

Hitler had his reasons to believe that USSR is going for a surprise attack, so he gave a preemptive strike.

"Hitler had the right idea, he was just an underachiever"

He wasn't an underachiever. Far from it. His performance was extremely good. Simply failing in the end does not make you an underachiever. He possibly ruined everything messing with his generals' plans instead of letting them to do their job.

Daily disagreement: they occupied our country, bombed our cities, and stole our bikes.

Yes, it was ugly. Why the fuck should they do it the ugly way when there were other options.

Daily reminder that Hitler was such a staunch advocate of general vegetarianism that he would bother high command with graphic pictures of animals during dinner to try to dissuade them from eating meat. Furthermore though he understood a radical diet change wasn't practical in the middle of war there are pretty clear indications he planned on forcefully implementing some kind of national vegetarianism after the war (if it ended in their favor).
