Is that why search disappeared? Well, guess it'll pop back up in a day or three, then.

Well, yeah:

https://searchvoat.co/

I just like having search right there on the page, rather than having to open a new tab and all.

Poor hackers - back to the drawing board.

Poor Powers That Be - no price gouging license revenues for you.

A few shills made it past the wire - but nothing the goat patrols couldn't handle.

Vote is now stronger than ever before - A lean mean goat machine - Well Done PuttItOut! Nicely Done Indeed.

So that's why my bits weren't checked last time, and the site as a whole seems a bit more responsive.

However, the comment highlighting in night mode seems kinda broken...

Yeah it's much more responsive now. The /v/all/new is also very clean now without the spam attack.

@GrandNagus, also spotted the comment highlighting issue. Either one of you can submit a bug report to /v/voatdev subverse! If you two are busy, I can also submit it on both of your behalf!

I believe this has to do with Voat AVE (do you use AVE?). Nightmode is now the default light mode (or it will be soon?) so AVE is going to be messed up. It's antiquated software at this point anyway, since the devs abandoned it.

Thanks for that! Just turned AVE off and it fixed that issue.

What's that mean for all the anti tech preppers out there?

[–] MadWorld [S] 0 points 14 points (+14|-0) ago

The new codebase has many bugs fixed, including those that weren't been fixed on the live Voat!

Sounds great! You goys keep teching and I'll keep prepping.

It's definitely faster.

It looks like major performance updates including upgrading the primary database to (Postgres 9.1) and re-writing large swaths of the core code base. We'd call this "refactoring", where all the technical debt (usually not planned for) gets wiped out and the code is much easier to maintain when users ask for stuff like new features or just stability.

There's a bunch of other cool stuff I see in the codebase but I'll be reluctant to jump to any conclusions too early.

I can't post anything new.

I keep going to Introductions, since this is a new username and get an error after post.

Been here 11 months and now I need an invite to create a new username.

There was a bug about the ccp issue when submitting a post. If you have less than 30ccp and attempts to make a submission where the captcha is present, the submission will fail. Currently you need to get 30ccp to get around this bug until it is fixed.

You can post content in a comment for now.

Just put a description, a space, and then a link to what you wanted to share.

I upvoated your comments so you're probably half way there.

It's worth doing the extra work here, IMO.

X-D Aren't we all speaking on top of ones and zeros? Maybe Voat should have your bits checked more often!

What's the difference?

[–] MadWorld [S] 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

It's more secure, robust and flexible! Many bugs were fixed, including some that were quite severe.

What bug was severe?

On a side note. Is it just me or have thumbnails disappeared completely?

[–] MadWorld [S] 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

It was disabled shortly after Voat was attacked(See edit2 here). If you notice, the search box in the sidebar is also disabled. This should be temporary while the attack is ongoing. So far it's running beautifully, almost zero spam in the /v/all/new!
