You could cherry pick the last two years and still match the muslim kill count (Orlando, June '16: 49 dead; San Bernardino, Dec '15, 14 dead). So he didn't cherry pick anything, much less the last ten years, to avoid an older event. He's simply and mendaciously wrong, and he doubled-down on it to prove that he celebrates murder he apparently considers righteous, or at least not "radical," while decrying somebody who's probably a patsy for a government-muslim operation to begin with.
But it doesn't matter, because people who argue for fearing the violence of white people don't use statistics to plan safety, they use rhetoric to achieve power. This is obvious to those who crave power, and those of us powerless to stop it.
He also ignored incidents like the Boston Bombing, which would have had a much higher number of casualties (in terms of injuries) than almost any other attack in recent history, simply due to the fact that big bomb blasts in the middle of crowded areas tend to send out waves of random shrapnel and cause the crowds to panic and trample over each other, unlike the close-range shootings, where the attackers would have had a better chance of focusing on killing targets rather than randomly shooting at them and letting them escape wounded.
