Hey Voaters. I felt like injecting some facts into the echo chamber today. I don't want to see the site's users as hive-minded as the Ctrl Left, so I thought to give you some info that might tingle the walnuts.
Let me tell you about Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
As anyone with my IP address can determine, I live and work near Lancaster, PA. (Specifically, I live in the county and work by the city.) While the city of Lancaster can properly be called a city, it's not like a CITY city. About 15 minutes in any direction is very rural, and if you pick the right direction you'll be in an Amish barn. Although the mayor, Rick Gray, is a Democrat, the region as a whole is fairly conservative and the county helped elect Trump.
The Lancaster City isn't perfect. It is a city, after all, and choose not to live in the city proper. However, for the past several years, the city (in both public and private sector) has made a concerted effort to improve, and in my opinion the efforts have been succeeding. I couldn't find any metrics on "city morale", but here are some encouraging crime statistics, which will be relevant to many of you. To be clear, it is not great, but it's important to know that it's getting better.
I tell you this to set the scene.
I was recently informed that Lancaster hosts waaaay more refugees per capita than anywhere else in the US. I believe the plurality is from Somalia, but they come from all other, including Iraq and Syria. I'm having trouble finding more up-to-date statistics, but an article from January 27, 2017 claims we've hosted 1,300 refugees since 2013. The 2010 census reports a Lancastrian population of about 60,000.
That's just background information.
This is what I really want to tell you:
We've had no terrorist attacks nor increased violence.
Thank you for your attention.

Cool story, bro. Now that you're done providing your one example of peaceful refugees, is it time to go to mosque? Allah doesn't like it if you're late to prayers or whatever.

Like I said man, I'd hate to see you guys just be another echo chamber hive mind. Reacting with puerile sarcasm to a fact that challenges one's worldview is not a sign of a healthy ideology.
