I take a knee when it comes to sports.

stopped watching sports altogether about five years ago.

the amazing thing is how little i've missed it. Once you step away from it you realize it's a pure time-sink with no return on investment.

Yeah no doubt mate. Spend an afternoon watching sports and you might as well just have been playing video games or jacking off during that time. It's one of those tricks that makes us feel like were being productive without actually doing anything.

It's an illusion that's created to occupy your free time. Once the illusion is broken though you realize you dont actually need it

Now we just need euros to become alienated from soccer and youll see some real shit happening

Listening to music has no return on investment either. But good for you for putting your country first.

That is my favorite phrase for this situation. I have been saying it since last season. Goes great with a new team name. The Pittsburgh Kneelers.

Then theyll get benched or kicked off the team. College teams arent as reliant on individual players as nfl teams are. Colleges are very reliant on alumni donations

Missouri got fucked HARD by their little shit fit. They are BY FAR the worst team in their conference, when they were going to conference championship games before. Their coach was fired but they lied and called it "health issues". The schools freshman enrollment dropped 45%. Colleges wont touch this with a ten foot pole. Just a taste of that shit literally destroyed a program

People learn by doing. Famous and/ or productive people didn't become that way by going to college and listening to bullshit.

Sometimes a jester forgets hes a jester and starts believing he has his spot at court because his opinions actually matter.

Your job is to entertain. If you're not entertaining then you're gone. Your job is not to play a game, the game is irrelevant if it isnt making money. You play the game to entertain.

If you work in entertainment never forget your paychecks come from the audience via your boss.

The Penguins didn't express any hesitation about going to the White House. Much respect for that.

Soccer would be a lot better if they updated the rules. I fucking hate Euros.

[–] bdmthrfkr 1 points 7 points (+8|-1) ago

In 1994 when the U.S. hosted the world Cup we asked for two rule changes to attract American audiences:

Break the game into 4 quarters so that people could go get stuff from the kitchen (sell more commercials)

and

Make the goal posts 1 meter wider so that there actually might be a goal occasionally.

I personally think that would be a great idea but the Euros just laughed it off. Interesting side note, soccer used to be the most popular sport in America but in the 50's the Networks killed it's popularity by not broadcasting it.

The reason was that soccer was seen as a communist sport since it was so popular in the U.S.S.R.

Sports disenfranchused from culture and geared toward idol worship? Yeah, they got national sports in a bag of deception atm.

I noticed this several years ago....people going on and on about who was going to what team, what somebody said in the offseason, who was signing with which college. It was gross - and it hit me ..... it was a soap opera for dudes. All the intrigue, the drama. It's stupid, and as you say ... a time and money waster, an opiate for the masses.

i wouldn't say he's controlled but he definitely does represent the lefts views. I may not agree with them but at least he is one of the few lefties out there that can articulate the viewpoint.

Never got into sports. I would rather play than watch, but i just wasn't raised in a house that was big on sports. So i don't really care what they do. I just hope people stop watching en masse and the players stop getting insane gibbs for throwing some balls around.

[–] Heretohelpfats____ 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

This has always been my view. Doing is way better than watching. It seems like some sort of cosmic joke. My friends will watch people play video game, sports, etc., and never want to actually go do something.
