Anyone remember the transition from Digg to Reddit? Someone made a serial of comics of an alien invasion. It'd be nice to see the post invasion establishment aliens be subverted by the goats.

Yes, I remember it well. Before the digg migration reddit seemed to have mostly libertarian, science, technology, and programming topics. Digg brought youtube tier comments and posts. Fuck that place.

Digg 2.0 really screwed the pooch, but it was begrudgingly accepted/worked-around by long time users. I remember the night I turned off my monitor, went to sleep, woke up and refreshed the digg tab I had opened— Digg 3.0. It was so weird. I was in disbelief almost the whole day, that they'd do such a stupid, stupid, STUPID, stupid, stupid thing. Interestingly, I was filled with the same determined anger that I felt when reddit started banning subs for wrong-think.

That's how I knew reddit was truly dead, and that it was only a matter of time before its rotting corpse became too unbearable, for even the most ardent of butt-pirates. Signed up for voat, didn't go back.
