I saw the eclipse and was underwhelmed. I guess 70% coverage just ain't enough to be interesting.

That's why I took a pic of the cool shadows. I was at 97% and it was cool and eerie, but couldn't see any stars. It just felt cooler and had the brightness of a storm rolling in, but just with not enough clouds. Ha

We were in the 92% area. Yeah, it was much like right before sunset. Birds got active, bugs started making their sunset noises, and the temperature dropped. It was creepier though since the light had a slightly weird quality to it.

In a 60% area and we had much of the same.

92 here and while it was pretty cool it wasn't something I will never forget. I told my wife that in 2024 we will travel to where it is 100% and make sure we are ready to watch from a great location. What really sucks is my in laws are in the 100% coverage area but by the time I thought about making a visit it was too late to get time off.

I looked directly into the sun. My eyes are just fine, just a little burny that's all.

We were joking earlier that the shadows looked like Cheshire Cat smiles. :)

Those are thousands of tiny pin-hole cameras formed by the light leaks between the leaves.

82%, could tell that it got slightly darker but not dark enough for crickets or anything

It did look eerie outside here where I live.

Southern Virginia here... just seemed like a cloudy day. Was hoping for more darkness.

WVa here. It was sunny and beautiful then it started getting hazy-looking and dim. It stayed that way for a while. Pretty cool!

I did this with my hands walking back from the bus this morning, where could see the shadows on the white-ish cement sidewalks. Like make a tube with your fingers and collapse and change angles until it gets into focus. They were fairly large and pretty sharp looking when moving on the cement. Was only 35-40%? here.

Had both hands going with two moons on the ground at once and was very erire looking at them with the sky simi-dark. Like two cat eyes.
