oh yeah, im aware of that. but it seems a lot like theres a general preference for automatic in the public at large, and nothing lasts forever. itll still take a pretty long while if that doesnt change (and it probably will at some point making me completely wrong on the matter), so "soon" was really the wrong word in this case.
and IF i recall correctly, continuously variable transmissions are superior to either. the only reason they dont get used so much is because the sensation of shifting gear is so ingrained in our culture/psyche that its unsettling to not feel it. so efficient.

That's only the case for the US. Most people prefer manual transmission here.

yeah, i suppose thats probably the case. how are the newer generations taking to it though?
