Its neither. Being tolerant can be good. If my neighbor wakes me up mowing his lawn, it irritating. But thats about it. If it happened every day or week it might be something to address. But if its one Saturday, I tolerate it. Its not a big deal, and Ive kept the peace between my neighbor and I. Instead of escalation.
Now, random sandniggers raping, and exploding and acid splashing... You dont tolerate that.
Theres a lot of room in the middle there. I can tolerate a quite queer next door, he keeps his house clean and nice. So what he does in his bedroom, i dont really care. Many others here hate fags period and wont put up w it period.
Tolerance can be a good thing, or it can mean youre a door mat. Depends on a lot.

Being tolerant is good, it keeps you from being broken when something doesn't go your way. Tolerance is for some reason being seen as "accepting abuse" though, the definition totally different from the honorable one.

Living next to someone you hate vs liking someone you hate

Everybody's got to do their own thing. As long as your 'thing' ends where I begin I don't give a fuck. The problem is when authoritarians think they know best and attempt to force their shit on everyone else - like BLM, antifa, SJW's etc. - these assholes are the most intolerant of them all. I think feeling threatened by someone different is a sign of weakness.
