This isn't really Gen Z. This is really the voice of the silent majority, regardless of age.

You would be hard pressed to find a person (grounded in reality) who is not socially liberal and fiscally conservative. The two political parties that exist in this country have us believing that these views are opposite each other, which is a farce.

Gen Z has the tools (internet) to know whats up.

Which is why all the net neutrality bills and governments like the UK cracking down on internet activity is scary as hell.

It's our greatest strength, and it's under constant threat.

I don't know what I really am, but what I'm not is socially liberal. No way. Gay marriage - no. Abortion - absolutely not. Bikinis and tattoos - degenerate. Blaring Pop/Rap music - assault on my ears and brain. Porn - ban it from internet. Adult shops - rename them monkey shops

Banning porn was how the UK got their grip on the internet. Once they can censor some websites, others might 'accidentally' get caught in the filter, or they just expand it to include 'hate speech' and whatever else they choose.

i am not a social person, and my experience with everything you list, mostly, is minimal, but everything you list involves being involved with it. you don't like it, don't do it.being gay, abortion, bikinis, tattoos, don't like it don't do it. blaring music i don't like, i only have to put up with it at the stop light. i get over it, not going to cry about it. porn, don't do it. adult shops, don't go or support them. dgaf, don't cry about it and get over it.

it just seems like you're banning books because you don't like them. what's next? chips? ugly cars?

You know you can be socially conservative without imposing your views on others. Just don't associate with degenerates per your right.

Seriously. This is just a libertarian talking point that is not based in reality, that deep down everyone really loves Austrian economics AND homo sex! Its a little delusional considering that people in todays world are becoming arguable the most politically polarized that they have been in 50 years. I have seen more calls to violence between groups than have been for some time. Sorry Reason.com but things are only going to get more right vs left not "centrist" and what you deem reasonable.

I agree and would like to add that this was all caused by (((a certain group))) trying to take it all too fast. They shot themselves in the foot.

High school students entering their sophomore year have lived with the US at war every day since birth. There was no happy go lucky 90's for them, no smiling Slick Willie, no dot-com boom, no magic of the new internet or wonder of cell phones, no joy in the fall of the USSR, no silliness of Seinfeld, no pride in the launch of Hubble, or the ridiculousness of Lorena Bobbitt and Tonya Harding.

With the vapid 90's gone, they grew with the sobering oughts and the embattled teens of fallen towers, concert-marathon-airport explosions, monthly casualty figures from the fronts, a midget madman with nukes, and chants of dearth to America, and a whole lot of crying from people who have no explicable reason to be whining. With the seriousness of current issues, the cries of, "Waaaah, what about me?" aren't really ringing with them, ... and it's wonderful to see.

Don't forget about how many thousands and thousands of this one generation alone witnessed their friends and family members die or remain stuck in the throes of opioid addiction, or remain stuck there themselves.

Something that the last several generations before them did not experience in the US.

Notably, Brauer’s research has indicated that growing up in an age of constant terror threats, school shootings, and economic instability has led Gen Z to prize economic stability and security more highly than millennials.

All thinking people are going to prize common sense over feelings. They want security, stability and a country they can be proud to be part of. There is a definite upswing towards being awake and informed! May the red pilling continue forth!

I often wonder if these "GENERATION ZYKLON" articles and posts are nothing more than an attempt to keep us complacent and happy that someone else will do our work for us.

I believe some of it is being spun that way, but there is still truth to them being the red pilled generation.

Possibly, and I'd believe it. I was just sort of musing about it. I suppose we'll find out within the next decade.

I look at it as Michael Moore on Bill Maher before the election trying to tell everyone that Trump had a good chance of winning.

Some of these people are trying to warn all the echo chamber liberal professors that they're about to deal with very cynical students coming in who know libtards are full of shit.

To be fair we've moved the Overton window so far left that anything normal seems conservative now. Even moderate conservatives are called far right in today's political climate. This generation has no choice than to be conservative. The only way to get further left than today's progressives is to restart the Soviet Empire. Edit: I'm not being facetious just look at European antifa as an example.
