I went from the top 10%+ in January to the bottom 30% ever since.

It's been worth it, but took more pain than it should have to finally admit I needed to stop.

Congratulations. I used to get stoned all day every day, then I quit smoking and picked up drinking and got drunk all day every day. Then I quit drinking. I've been 100% sober for months now.

I followed the exact same pattern. Smoking too much and quit it fairly easily. It was also easily replaced with drinking shortly after and that went 10x worse than the smoking ever got.

Congrats to you as well.

Yeah I had some real wake up calls before I quit. I haven't been happier and more productive ever in my life though.

It's one of those things that is obviously bad and you know damn well you're losing incalculable productivity... but the way the chemical signals flow it just doesn't matter until there is enough negative reinforcement to change the pattern.

Congrats on pulling that lever.

Cool. I managed an average of 1-2 drunken weekends per month and not a drop in between for the last 15 years.

But if you were top 10% you probably cant do that and have to keep to bottom 30%.

Yeah there is no throttle... at least the throttle won't last for longer than a month or so.
