Im sorry. I love them. Probably mostly since I was a poor children living in a trailer park, unable to affor anything, my family would go mushroom hunting as an extra source of income (if you found Shiitake mushrooms, you were hapoy as hell at 50$ a lbs at the time). This had us picking all kinds of different ones. There are so many that should be farmed that aren't. Shame really.

It's the texture. I don't mind the flavor when they are ground up in a gravy, but little spongy squishes put me off.
