We'd be better off with an admin who cares.

I don't agree with you, as I think Putt does care. Putt also has a real life. We get it. That is my opinion, but I would say it is far from worship.

I've been keeping up with the PSA's and the development stuff. I saw the post where he had everything working on the new framework. Good progress. I am wanting to know specifically about the Financial Side of things. Want to avoid downtime if possible.

The PSA's come about every 2 weeks, or when Putt checks in on us.

Agreed, were not very high up on the priority list compared to other things he has going on. If we were, the "weee voat is flying now" thumbnail might have been taken down weeks before the site almost went down. However, its still up. Never came down.

Most users forgive that, but at this point I'm wondering why he's held on to being the admin. Atko gave it up. For the exact same reasons that putt should.

On the surface, Voat appears to be more of a labor of love to Putt than a bona fide endeavour.

From what I hear from other web developers, the workload for Putt is simply too much for one man to handle.. especially as a hobby rather than a career.

I would like to see somebody step up to the plate, though. I understand there isn't much on that plate to offer.. other than tons of extra responsibility, constant pings and emails, and sanegoat. That person certainly isn't me, I don't want that kind of power.

I do think he needs to take on more help, sure, but I don't think it's a good idea to try to get Putt to abandon voat. @Cynabuns, you should speak with Putt and ask if he's open to hiring some additional hands. (Edit: Please. I didn't mean to make that sound like a demand...)

This is a beautiful place. One of the last places on the internet that gives a damn about freedom of expression. We can't talk like we're rooting for it to fail. It's okay to be critical, but lets at least try to be constructive.

Putt can't do it alone.
