I leave to the infirmary. Rounding up every stimulant and disassociative I can find. A mix of these checmicals should help our soldiers fight harder. Gathering the needles causes a twinge of pain in my left arm. The memory, like the scars, remain. " One little shot couldn't hurt, I may die any day now." I drop all my supplies and search for the fentanyl. 100mcg should do the trick. I plunge the hypo into the rubber lid, draw the fentanyl into the syringe. Then there is a knock at the door.

You roll a thirteen. You conceal the hypo and cap it before answering the door.
"Yes"?
"There's something going on. Some sort of sickness! My son, there's something wrong with his leg! It got bit up by some of dem jungle bugs, and... there's something moving inside it now."
The black mother brings her child in, who is no more than twelve. He smells of death, and his eyes are listless and nearly dead.
You look at his leg. There are strange worms, feeding inside it. Every now and then, the worms contract, and the leg jerks.
You look at the mother, and she has sores on her hands. The sores are moving.

"Dermatobia hominis... "
Bot flies had clearly infested this childs leg and the mothers hands as well.
I grab a candle from the window and light it. Telling the mother to stick out her hands. I then pour hot wax over her hands. "Do not move, do not touch the wax just stand still."
I begin working on the childs leg. Swabbing the area with iodine and injecting a small amount of lidocaine the prep is done as I move on to physically extracting the botfly larva from this kid. After 10 minutes of expelling the larva from the childs leg the mother screams. "Doctor! my hands!"
I look towards her and notice the layer of wax moving on her hands. I grab the foreceps and wait as the larva digs its way out of the wax to breathe and as soon as its head pops out of the wax I grab it skillfully with the forceps and remove hit completely three more larva make their way through the wax and meet the same fate. I turn back to the child as few larva crawl out of his leg and land on the wooden floor. The parasite is leaving its host. The host is on deaths doorstep. The child stops its shallow breathing.
