I had this discussion with some coworkers about "reckless eyeballing" which is apparently being pushed as a form of sexual harassment in the workplace. I argued that that is literally thought policing and unsubstantiated bullshit, yet my coworkers kept insisting that it was justifiable.

The eye ball policy was enacted way back in 2000 at a place I worked. The men were told if they looked at a woman for more than 20 seconds it was a firing offense. Just to clarify it was a working for a subcontractor at an operating facility. Since I was often time the only girl among on the crew of 50+ men I would describe a nearby woman in titilating detail because I was allowed to stare at women due to my lack of a penis. It wasn't harassment, it was a game we played in defiance of a stupid rule.

Seems like it would be hard to have a job performance review in under 20 seconds if the manager/employee were not the same gender, hell hard enough to have any job related conversation in that time frame.

There will always be folly. We who maintain the capability for rational thought and critical thinking must remember that nothing is given to Man on Earth, that all good things, freedom included, must be fought for. We must fight their folly with logic or their folly will win. Keep calling them out.
