That's a really stupid argument. Mechanical engineer is not some pleb soft science degree. Many engineers, mathematicians, physicists wind up working in deep science, often with a better nuts and bolts understanding than a biology major or meteorologist.

That's not saying that Nye isn't some opportunist who bought in and is trying to sell the globalist agenda. He certainly is. But just a mechanical engineer makes YOU sound like a pedantic idiot.

Knowing engineering doesnt tell you fuck all about genetics. The engineer might be able to use analogies better but they would still have to study the basics like everyone else

Having a ba in biology barely tells you fuck all about genetics. The goal of a degree is to give you a grounding in a field, not comprehensive knowledge. People with math heavy degrees frequently work in science fields because lots of "scientists" are shit at math.

A janitor is as qualified to evaluate climate science as a mechanical engineer. His degree provides no insight or expertise which is anyway applicable to climatology. At best it allows him to perform statistical analysis, but given the data is usually missing, that's an empty advantage. Will point out, climatologists have repeatedly had to retract papers because they keep fucking up the statistical analysis of their own data.

The entire reason TED originally existed is because actual scientists have a terrible track record for even knowing anything about cross domains. Meaning, if its not their specific domain, they likely know nothing about the topic.

not the same guy, but hes probably not saying mechanical engineering is easy

all i can write about mechanical engineers is how often they are even more autistic than me.

I've got a friend with a ba in physics whos worked in the oil field so long he knows more about geology than a most people with a master's in the field. I know/work with a lot of engineers who are experts in materials science. Math heavy degrees are usually entry points into other scientific fielda

He was an Engineer 30 years ago. He quit Boeing in 1986 when I was 16. Him saying he is an Engineer is like me saying I'm still a teenager.

I always thought he was a cock-gobbling faggot and could never bring myself to watch his shitty show. Fuck him.

Bill nye got a degree in mechanical engineering and have may worked in the trade for a while.

However he hasn't held a job doing mechanical engineering for a long time.

He has been an actor doing what they do best, saying you should listen to their opinion because they are famous.

he might be intelligent but he sure doesnt know how to spot a bad performance

These days I'd trust a mechanical engineer over a scientist bribed by grant money any day. Fortunately for me I don't have to worry about any conflicts in this case, bill is neither a engineer or a scientist hes a TV star.

Just because he got a degree in something doesn't make him that. A degree just means you are worm that might have a chance of becoming something better after years of hard work.

So it's Bill Nye the engineering "Non Gendered" Person?
