I never click on clickbait any more, because I hate sites that give a tiny bit of interesting stuff on each webpage along with lots of advertising that I ain't interested in. I'm almost never interested in any advertising.
I guess if my internet service weren't so slow, I might not mind it quite so much, but it does still irritate me.
A lot of sites seem to be trying to sneak increasing amounts of advertising into every page. I read mostly news, science and similar sites and I find increasing amounts of chaff with decreasing amounts of wheat. There will be the Title of the article near the top with ads before and after it, then a few sentences of the article, then a few lines that look like part of the article, but are just ads, etc. It's often hard to find the ends of articles any more. You think the article ended already, because there's a bunch of spam. But then you find a few more sentences farther down. Then you come to the clickbait, and that seems to be the dead giveaway now that the article is over.
(Note: By clickbait I mean a bunch of pictures with captions that you can click on as links to seemingly interesting articles.)
Don't you hate when that happens?
