This is the problem. It simply isn't true anymore. For the last 10 years, economic growth and employment growth can no longer be correlated in the US. Technology has hollowed out this kind of thinking. It is a big deal with repercussions on how we think about all economic policies; globalism, trade, and even capitalism itself.
