I know, buddy ): but you know the brain is a beautiful, malleable, magically dynamic machine. Is possible the damage is permanent, but recovery and improvement are also as possible! This lady lived her life without a while chunk of her brain!

I have had a few seizures recently and while I don't think I am close to the status of OPs neighbor I think you are right. Far and away the worst part isn't my speech or memory problems, its my child noticing and telling me she is sad that we can't play together anymore. Its heart-breaking.
