Yup, food is a great thing to bring over. Make a nice pasta dish, something that is good reheated so they can have some later.

When my wife's father was dying she told me that she never understood just how much food could comfort and help- the close family members who were there by his side wouldn't have taken a break to eat unless the food was right there where they could get at it.

Yeah, bring food. It's the best thing you can do.

Go over and offer him any help that you could reasonably do. Cut the lawn, clear his driveway - whatever.

He's mobile and that's a positive thing. He can recover from a head injury but it's a long walk back as long as the injury only affected his motor skills.

A home baked casserole can warm the belly and the soul. I'm sure your neighbors would be grateful to have a night off from cooking.

This one here. Speaking as someone who was on the other side of this. People who helped lessen the load on my wife were saints in my eyes. It was a long trip back and I still have some nagging issues, but anything you can do to lighten the load of the caregivers is a godsend.

Yeah get over there and offer help, any help. You don't need to paint their whole house or landscape the whole lawn, but maybe he needs a grocery run or the trash taken out. Gotta look out for the neighbors man, cus they're looking out for you.

Damn man. It kind of makes me feel like a dick. In the last 12 months alone, I have had 2 concussions (at least), broken collar bone, nose, ribs and chipped my front tooth. So far I haven't gone full tard but I am thankful to have what I have yet.

Go visit, I echo the cookies. See if there's anything you can do to help.
