I disagree somewhat. Most of the subs on voat were vreated for specific things. If I popped in to /v/BabyGoats/ and found that it looked like the /v/TheDonald/ I'd be a bit miffed. BabyGoats is for baby goats, and I don't want TheDonald in there. On the other hand, If I dropped into TheDonald, and found that it looked like BabyGoats, I'd be just as miffed, for the same reason.

I understand your point, and even agree, mostly. But you have to make room for the fact that subs people created subs for a specific thing, and that other thing might not be welcome.

It is tricky. "Irrelevance" as grounds for deletion sounds reasonable but I can't see how to avoid the slippery slope.

this is exactly what OP says he doesn't like, and I agree with him. Free speech is thunderdome. Embrace that shit and stop being such a faggot. Seriously though, those rules like "this stuff doesn't belong here, it belongs there" is exactly what is wrong with *eddit. Those are the rules that ALWAYS get abused.

If whatever sub has clearly stated rules that say they remove x content, then they should be completely allowed to do so. At that point, they've made their position very clear, and it's up to the user whether or not they want to support said position.

this is the only right answer. the sub makes whatever rules it wants, but then they're beholden to the consequences of those rules. if the sub's users don't like that their content is being deleted, they will move on. really very simple.

Fuck democracy. It's the purview of liberal fucking shits from reddit, who think that by whining loud enough they can get their way in any sub they please, simply by throwing enough TrigglyPuff tantrums that eventually everyone else gives up and lets them have their way.

Fuck the current wave of redditors. If these idiots were even remotely possessed of intelligence, they would've left that site years ago...and yet they did not. Which means that this current wave is composed of a bunch of fucking three-inch-dicked betas who've somehow decided that the best place to get their 11-year-old pre-teen porn is Voat, or at leas the best place to get validation for their sick fucking desires. I despise the entire fucking lot of them and sincerely wish they'd all fuck back off to reddit where low-brow child-raping shit-stains like them belong.

Seriously, Voaters, think about this: the current wave of neck-beard losers couldn't seen the shit-hole that reddit has become until NOW. Just how stupid are these motherfucking child-rapists? They have to be the bottom of the goddamned barrel to have stuck with the "other site" for so long, no matter what else you might think about them - and why the fuck would you want the scum here on Voat? Just to inflate the numbers on certain verses? Then you're no better than the child-fuckers themselves. to my way of thinking.

Redditors are swine, filth, betas, three-inch-dicked losers who desperately want to fuck a pre-teen because women with actual breasts and hips scare the bejesus out of them. I hope they all fucking die in a fire, slowly and horribly - and if it's in an oven, powering a city with their 300-hundred-pound bulk, all the better.

Edit: I love Wild Turkey, at least while I'm drinking it. I always say what I think when I've drunk enough of it. The day after, I vow never to post on Voat again, but then, I drink the shit again, and here I am....still, I really do hate reddit swine, whether drunk as a skunk or not....

Democracies are shitstains of abuse where the majority abuses the minority.

In the Voat Republic, representatives (moderators) have the duty to stand up for their constituents (subscribers) against any majority seeking to overrule them.

The past year has given me an epiphany. I now understand fascists and dictators. There really is a core group in any society that is so willfully and actively stupid they threaten to collapse the society around them. What can you do to solve it when they have consciously rejected logic and reason? They're ideological terrorists, for lack of a better term. The reduction of civilization into a cesspit of eternal, global serfdom is their desired goal. What can we realistically do other than take up arms? An election or two will not make this filth go away. How many decades or centuries do we keep fighting with words and votes while civilization just lists aimlessly sideways?

True. Like many of our issues, I sum it up as too many damn people. Hard for one man to do anything. Their grip is so tight.

We're not a democracy. We have immutable rules.

I agree, hence "democracy" in quotes, but my point is about majority-rule based on votes.

Indeed. Terminology is a tricky place. The realm of what's on the front page is (mostly) democratic.

Definitions are a problem. I accept that my own examples are open to interpretation. How do we detect/define vote manipulation?

when something unusual for this site posted by a new account gets a huge amount of votes in a incredibly short amount of time with no/hardly any positive comments and the OP won't respond, that's usually a little suspicious
