Short story: it's a combination of "rewriting the server code to make it more efficient and to add in support for new features", "sustained DDoS attacks by people trying to shut down non-PC free speech sites, like the SJWs and CTR shills", "moving the databases to something smaller to cut costs", and "occasional bugs in some of the new code that can make some of the processes completely lock up {which are currently being hunted down and fixed now by PuttItOut, although no one knows when that will be finished}".

So nothing out of the ordinary, really.
