racists and people who hate niggers are the cost of free speech.

you want honest discussion, you are gonna have some racists mixed in with the productive discussion. you may hear words and ideas you dont agree with, but thats the point. free uncensored speech.

You are not alone. I never thought I would be considered moderate in my life, but here we are.

I don't believe in the wage gap. I'm not sexist; the data just says it's a myth.

I don't think race is the problem with society, I think class is. I was geared up for class warfare and BLM distracted from it. (As intended, I'm sure.) Yeah, the poor are pissed. It happens when you truck in illegal workers and entry-level pay gets diminished and standards of living tank.

I don't think there are more than 2 genders, but I don't give a single fuck what's going on in anyone's pants, tbh. You do you and no, really... it's not my business. I don't care. Please stop talking about your sexual identity. I don't want to know. Please. Stop.

I'm not going to change anything I'm doing in my life to make anything easier on anyone else. No one does it for me, so everyone else can eat a big old cock. This includes pronoun shifting, observing any religious anythings, being super careful not to give offense at offensive things, or.... pretty much anything.

I don't, however, think taxation is theft. I don't think entitlements should be cut. I don't think babies are born ghetto, they are raised to be. I don't have a problem with Latinos as long as they have to get paid above the table, same as you or me.

Apparently, this all makes me a misogynist bigot.

Why is it so easy for people to hate and be violent compared to loving each other and caring for each other?

IMO, the tribalism that has kept us alive for tens of thousands of years is used against us.

I would say that there are occasionally people who don't obviously belong in one of the genders, but that is entirely the result of birth defects that give people either no genitals or 2 sets, and we already have an entire medical industry set up to properly place people into a standard gender role from there. Sometimes they can get it wrong, and that sucks, but all the other cases where people think they should be another gender/age/species are just cases of "body dismorphia" with varying degrees of severity.

Other than that, this Democrat-turned-True-Libertarian (fuck Gary Johnson, he doesn't even abide by the basic Libertarian definition of "wanting less government intervention in the lives of citizens") shares every view you have.

The elitists cannot stop the revolution of the "Deplorables".

[–] By_The_Water 1 points 2 points (+3|-1) ago

See, your first paragraph is fine and all, but it's not my business what is going on with other folk's genitals. I don't know and don't care. "Pick one and move along" is my motto. I'm more frustrated that people choose a third or fourth option and incessantly talk about it, join groups pushing for social change to recognize what they've done, and then beat you over the head with it.

No. Fuck them. I don't care. It isn't my business. Stop making it my business. I don't care where folks drop their dukes. I don't care if someone feels like they need to lop something off to feel complete. Its not my business. The whole country doesn't need to be wrapped up in the problems of 4% of it. There are bigger problems out there.

I don't think we live in a world where everyone unanimously liking everyone will ever happen. I don't see a reason to hate someone who yells "Fuck Niggers" anymore than someone who yells "Fuck Racists".

What I do hate is someone who yells "Do what I say", which is what the left is doing now. People can not like anyone they don't want to. I don't give a shit at all. Just don't tell me what to do. I don't have to live by your or anyone else's morals. Especially a God-less humans morals. With no "Divine Authority" why would I take someone else's morals seriously?

No human is better than me to decide my behavior. I will always look out what's best for me.

There's a strange irony in that

[–] Chingasa 3 points 9 points (+12|-3) ago

No one tells me to believe, does anyone force you to? Making a choice to do something and being forced to are different.

I do because I want to. I enjoy the parts of the bible I've read, and most of the rules. I have no problem looking to something bigger than myself.

No one is forcing me to do so. That's my choice. I'm not a child. My parents don't spank me if I don't go to church (I'm old). There's no reprimand. I enjoy the community, I like the discipline.

Freedom is about doing the things you believe you should do or want to do. I am very comfortable with my path.

The crazy people are the most visible and the least important. Sure, for every purple-haired tumbler feminist on the left there's a neo-Nazi neckbeard on the right, but who cares. Ignore them, block the worst of the subverses, and pay attention to the things that are really worth your attention.

Lots of people drift away from the left as they get older, and in my experience many of them say the same thing - "I didn't leave the left, the left left me". Leftism and liberalism are different; liberalism is all about the free exchange of ideas, equality under the law, and personal liberty. The more liberal you are, the less welcome you'll be there.

Also remember that right and left are just one axis, and they are almost entirely arbitrary anyway. No one ideology is good enough to guide a thinking person through life, and the more that people attach themselves to prepackaged ideas, the fewer original and interesting things they have to say. Become comfortable as an outsider and just filter out the partisan nonsense. It's a very big world out there.

[–] rwbj 1 points 2 points (+3|-1) ago  (edited ago)

I agree with what you're saying, but not the historical precedent. I think in the past drifting away from liberalism was more about the individual than the party. Carter was certainly no authoritarian, neither was Bill Clinton. You've gotta go back to LBJ to get a left presidency earlier than that. This trend of authoritarianism is something that was previously mostly relegated to the right with things like the Moral Majority. Clinton may not have been much of a liberal in the true sense of the word, but there's a stark difference between a conservative democrat and the authoritarian platform the democrats of today are crafting. Democrats today are turning sharply away from liberalism and this is something that hasn't happened in many decades. Perhaps we'd need to look back to the point that democrats and republicans swapped effective 'sides' to see a precedent.

0
2

[–] 6355165? 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Actually, the two parties haven't swapped sides, they've just chosen to go an entirely different direction than the public thinks they're going in by embracing "Neoliberalism", and pretending to fight over minor differences between their preferred version of "Neoliberalism" (rather than a truer representation of the political spectrum, like Bernie Sanders' egalitarian ideas for the left and the nationalist ideas of both Trump and Cruz (to varying degrees) on the right).

This election, like with Brexit, is the first, and the last, vote we can cast to either keep going with the globalist status quo, or utterly reject our current path in favor of returning to nationalism. If you want to send a clear message to the liars in Washington and the media, vote Trump (he's not perfect, but he's the best out of the current 4 by far) and anyone running on a pro-Trump platform for Senate or the House of Representatives, maybe even volunteering as an election observer to help minimize their ability to rig the election in Hillary's favor.

Waco: The Rules of Engagement http://imdb.com/rg/an_share/title/title/tt0120472/

It's a must watch. Bill Clinton and Janet Reno conspire to mass murder American men, women, and children, over second amendment rights and the fed's unconstitutional laws. It's a retort for resistance at Ruby Ridge, designed to make an example all who would resist Clinton's authoritative power. This includes the use of a chemical attack, which paralyzed and ripped flesh from bone, so they could be cooked alive. You'll see the murder squad executing anyone who didn't run through fire to the media. On video the government said didn't exist. You'll see the federal government murder people for simply watching the illegal raid.

Bill Clinton is a mass murdering authoritarian. It's part of the official federal record.

[–] ForUs 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Waco and the AWB completely invalidates your position on Clinton. Clinton is a text book authoritarian. Clinton is too often given credit for things he never did and never given credit for the things he actually did.

[–] Kromulent 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Well, speaking for myself, Bill Clinton was part of what drove me away from the democrats. You might be too young to remember, but his administration lead a war for video game and music censorship, and another against PGP and digital encryption. His very strong push for gun control was another big factor - as crazy as it seems, gun-owning democrats were once quite common. His successful and relentless attack on tobacco was similarly authoritarian, even if the result is generally viewed favorably today.

The feminism nonsense which seems so pervasive today really started to take root in that era as well. This is when hiring quotas (rather than a simple absence of discrimination) started to become a practical business concern - it was no longer sufficient that your policies were nondiscriminatory, it was necessary that they not have a 'disparate impact'. Before this time, you could count yourself an ally of feminists and of civil right supporters by simply standing up for equality under the law. Those days are long gone now.

Now, it's important to note that the Republicans were no less authoritarian in their turn. I'm not saying that the Democrats were being unusually bad, I'm just pointing out that they have been turning people away in this manner for quite some time. The standards change, new people come in, old people leave. It's always been this way, for both parties, forever.

The guy with a rifle in his pickup and a hand-rolled cigarette in his mouth, who thought we all ought to treat everyone equally and that discrimination of any sort was un-American and stupid, suddenly became unwelcome on the left. They lost an awful lot of people over that.

The political spectrum is a bunch of bull shit. It isn't a straight line that runs left or right. It is a circle, and without a part of it, the circle is broken and we aren't whole.

A circle is perfect, but the world is a sphere not a circle.

[–] Kromulent 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Left/Right are represented on one axis; here's a common two-axis model, adding Authoritarian/Libertarian:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_compass#/media/File:Uk2015.png

You can add as many axes as you can think of - for example, Private Ownership/Nationalized, Regulated/Deregulated, Staid/Libertine, Innovative/Traditional, Religious/Secular, and so on. Every axis is arbitrary, and they are only as good as they are useful.

I agree that Left/Right has become almost meaningless these days, but it's the language that's in common use so we are stuck with it for now.

Indeed. I run a small shitty site with a bunch of elderly trolls. They say the nastiest shit. So I just look the other way knowing that I'm still supporting free speech but I can still call them a bunch of dickbags.

It sucks I have to do it rather anonymously, but you know in this punitive day and age, saying the wrong thing or being associated with the wrong thing just gets you fucked, and hard.

I hate that twitter and Facebook are things, and they are so full of cliques . And they are only used for baby pictures, useless product promotion, and of course moral self licencing, virtue signalling and public shaming.

Fuck the left.

To me, it doesn't matter how racist someone is. Their actions and what they want for the future matter.

I think it's also important to realize that there are very little situation outside of Voat where you can express "racism." It's like all your frustrations and experiences, all your ideals and ideas and everything else gets so damn bottled up every-fucking-where that once you're not anymore people take it to the extreme. It all boils over.
