Trump goes to Louisiana,Mexico, and acts presidential while Clinton is napping and filling her colostomy bag. The Dems are in a tail spin and don't know what to do. So that sickly looking hag gets propped up to a podium and complains he went to Mexico! Go back to sleep you old hog.

No risk = no reward. He doesn't have a foundation, media, social media, search engines to cheat him in.

Or a pillow to prop him up. Or a 24x7 ghoul waiting in the wings with a needle. Or a catheter and piss bag. Hillary for prison <current year>

Hold on, tell me more about this pickle incident. She really refused to open a jar of pickles?

She opened a jar of pickles on the Jimmy Kimmel show to prove that the allegations about her failing health are false. The jar was actually pre-opened like many here suspected.

As if opening a jar of pickles proves anything about your health to begin with ...

No, she went on Jimmy Kimmel's show and play-acted like she was actually opening a fresh jar.

However, if you look at the video clip, you can see several key things:

1, Jimmy grabs the jar by the glass when he is lifting it onto the table, rather than by the lid (something that would have been much more reasonable grabbing it from the top like he did if the jar was actually sealed when he brought it out)

2, Hillary play-acts like it is a huge struggle in such a way that she completely obscures the lid from the camera

3, as many videos have pointed out, despite both Hillary and Kimmel wearing microphones on their clothing to better pick up their voice, there is no pop from the jar in any audio from the show

4, when the jar is opened, the lid is clean and no juice is visible on the lid (something that should be next to impossible for a vacuum-sealed jar of pickles filled with juice and jostled around in trucks and hand-carried boxes across the country)

The staging is plain as day, and a sign of just how little Hillary's campaign thinks of the mental capacity of her opponents (especially when she has an entertainer untrained in any form of medicine "take her pulse", and laugh it off when he is unable to even know where to begin, with his mention of "I don't feel anything").

There would have been no risk. She couldn't have done it for sure.

Lets be fair here getting into Mexico is easy, opening a sealed jar of pickles can be very hard.

I think Trump is a smart man

I think Trump didn't risk anything.

I think Trump went there knowing that the potential positives far out-weighed the negatives

Stop playing into Shillary's hands by implying Trump isn't smart.

I wouldn't say he really risked anything.

the secret to putting together YUGE DEALS is that you do it like eating an elephant: one bite at a time.

DJT has been nibbling away at the American public, the Establishment. He has built an amazing amount of support for what was once a crazy, fringe idea.

Then, he went to the Lion's very den, while still a candidate, to turn Mexico into an ally in the war to Keep Jobs in This Hemisphere, instead of outsourcing to Asia.

There are about a million ways this could have gone wrong. What if the Mexican crowd had booed him, or staged some sort of demonstration? What if the Mexican president had decided to interrupt Trump, call him a racist, and kick him out of Mexico? ANY of those things could have happened. Although he didn't show it too much, internally I am SURE that Trump was sweating bullets, waiting for some kind of shenanigans to take place that would ruin his optics.

In hindsight, it doesn't look like he took much of a risk. But in foresight, any number of things could have happened that would have absolutely killed his chances of being elected.

If I were him, after shaking hands, giving my speech, and closing the meeting on a positive note, I would have high-tailed it to the jet as fast as I possibly could, without looking like that's what I was trying to do. After takeoff I would have sunk deep into one of those luxurious leather chairs and breathed a tremendous sigh of relief, and allow myself to accept that holy shit, of all the crazy biz that could have ruined everything, for some crazy reason, it didn't happen.

And I'd chuckle internally when Hillary woke up the next day and decried my efforts from the safety of her hermetically sealed Candidate Life Support Chamber.

But dude, one day in your life you're going to have a deal to put together, that to you and/or others, is YUGE. When that happens, and maybe it already has, you'll know what I'm talking about -- that when you have visible meetings with major stakeholders, you're taking TREMENDOUS risk because of all the unknowable unknowns.

What if the Mexican president had decided to interrupt Trump, call him a racist, and kick him out of Mexico?

Suppose you were the Mexican president.

Suppose you did those things.

Now suppose it's January 20th and you're watching live coverage of the Republican nominee being sworn in as Commander in Chief of that great blue-eyed devil-country in the north, putting him in command of the most powerful military in the history of the world.

He took a political risk. The decision and plans were made in a tight time window. It could have backfired on a political level a number of ways.

As it was, he showed himself to be a dynamic candidate.
