This isn't really news or security or privacy or technology or politics, but a combination of all of them. WikiLeaks has been busy releasing large troves of data of late. I've been really hesitant to review any of it because I don't trust the source to not have beacons and other malware hidden in the data.
If you do plan to do this, there's a tool that may help you find the malware and insecure links hidden in the data sets: https://github.com/bontchev/wlscrape. Not my tool, but it's nice to know someone is ahead of the curve of this.
