I made a thread over at /v/news to suggest that old yet relevant articles (allowed by rule 1) should include a date in the title so that it's clear when an article is old news.

I like that /v/news gives leeway to old yet relevant articles, but often these posts are voted up just because people see them and assume they're new.

Including the date in the title for old posts would allow voaters to see which stories are old and vote on relevancy. Rule 1 already defines old as older than 30 days.

damn Chilly people just don't want reliable information. With that many down voats I would have though you told them to install win 10.

Crazy thing is, most of the comments in this thread had positive votes - even after this post hit number 1 in /v/all. All the downvotes came in at once sometime after.

Edit: my two comments in this thread are now two of my three most downvoted comments of all time, and even your comment has a downvote and it's only fifteen minutes old.

I think this thread is just jinxed.
