Got home from a friends at about 1:20 am decided to take my beautiful white husky for a walk with my brother and his poodle. We get about 2 blocks from our house when we spot a cop shining its lights into yards. It proceeded to roll up to us slowly and then two cops jumped out and started demanding my name. I told them no thanks as is my given right unless I am being arrested. Turned to walk away, they yelled at me to stop and I asked them if i was being detained. Their answer was yes. So I asked them to articulate what reasonable suspicion they had to detain me. In response they grabbed my arm and wrist and twisted it up against my back and upwards. I asked again what their reasonable suspicion was, their response was that they were looking for a person who was allegedly trying to commit suicide. I responded with " Does it look like I am trying to commit suicide." Their response was a feeble " He was reported as wearing a blue shirt with long hair." They then demanded my name several times all the while telling my brother to stay back. My dog started to wrap me up so I told my brother to come get my dog, in response they tried to take her leash and I told them not to touch my property and insisted my brother get the leash, in response they twisted my wrist almost up to my neck but did allow my brother to tentatively reach for the leash and step back again. At this point they started to reach into my pockets and I told them I was do not give them permission to search me, so they forced me to the curb so they could intimidate me while they kept harassing me for my name, I told them I wanted a supervisor to arrive. I gave them nothing more than my first name. Another cop arrived who looked like he couldn't run more than half a block, a few minutes later another cop arrived a young officer who looked at me stated I wasn't who they were looking for. I asked for badge numbers and names and they all just mumbled them at the same time so that I couldn't understand them. Then they split. Of course my demand for a supervisor was ignored, despite an almost universal policy for a supervisor to arrive if requested.
My brother attempted to film it but his camera is shit. I wasn't going to pull mine out while they were approaching me and risk getting pumped full of lead. But we circled back home dropped off our wallets and then went and found them I demanded their names and numbers again and got some half whispered replies but it was filmed so I got some of it. They proceeded to claim we had no right to be on public property or watching them and shined lights into my camera like little children. Now I'm sitting here at home after calling 911 and asking for a supervisor to make a report on them as best as I can. Tomorrow I plan on going to the thugs hideout and filing an official complaint.
I have never been harassed like this it was amazing how far these idiots stray from our laws and rights. How easy it is for them to fabricate "suspicion" and how easily they could of just body slammed me and fucked me up just for exerting my rights. All my interactions before have been voluntary yet I still ended up harassed and flabbergasted that our police treat people this way.
I am a straight white male 32 years old and have never had more than a speeding ticket. There was no need to treat me this way, a simple question of if I was ok and if I intended to commit suicide would of been the proper way to engage me, but it was obvious I wasn't I was with my brother and we where simply taking our usual walk with our dogs.
Edit- Seems the bootlickers are out in force, funny seeing as we are in a place that generally values and exerts our rights.
