Do you support images above 20 MB? Anything 8K size?

Does it re-compress images?

One of the reasons you see imgur being used is because its the most popular image host on the web, and people can and do find shit on other sites (including leddit) and xpost them quickly while theyre still not browsing voat. If you dont want to upvote that fine, but you wont be able to stop people from doing what i just described unless voat makes some kind of partnership with sli.mg to reupload pics automatically that come from imgur.

I agree with you totally. I was only posting as a courtesy and a welcome awareness offering.

Here is a list of other non-imgur images hosts that was created about a year ago.

"Just like reddit, we're more obsessed with the community correctness of what you post instead of actually caring about the content."

Where can I find a site where members don't nanny on and on about the domain where something is posted and just look at what it is? When are people going to realize that a domain is just a domain?

Imgur is reddit's go-to domain and has the same mentality as reddit (censorship, bullshit, etc.) so there is a bit of a principle behind this request. However, reddit now has their own image hosting ability. So much for reddit's loyalty.

Imgur's also had its own commenting system for a while that's apparently managed to become a community after a fashion. I can't help but wonder if that didn't figure into them looking hosting their own images.

Reddit and Imgur have broken up. Reddit runs it's own image hosting now.

A domain isn't just a domain. It's a company. While I can understand your sentiment, when you send them traffic you are giving them money. If you don't like that company then it stands to reason that you wouldn't want to continue to support them. So, here we are, with people asking other people not to support that company.

If you use direct links or an ad blocker, you're actually a leech on their resources, not a profit. Not really.

I'm sort of with you, but as others pointed out, Imugr sensors stuff that they don't like. Voat is trying to be as, legally, open as possible. I disagree with OP pushing sli.mg, you should host wherever you want, but if the host is a well known censor of speech then it should be pointed out and options offered. Just pushing ONE alternative is short sighted.

What images have you had removed from a private gallery on imgur?

I'm very tired of the constant harassment because of the domain I choose to use. I wish people could just pay attention to content instead of the ongoing nitpicking over what site something is on. "This site is clickbait" or "This site is all trash" or "this site does things I don't like" - always in the middle of active discussion about the actual content which some folks obviously found interesting enough to comment on.

It's always funny how popular these threads are, yet the majority still uses imgur.

It's easier to repost something that's already on imgur than take the 2 seconds to copy the url and paste it to sli.mg.

Just do what I do and ignore the post. If people want to keep using a site like that, whatever, we can't stop them. It'd be nice if people who support free speech didn't constantly use a site that has been known to censor things they didn't like (ie fat people posts), but we can't tell them to stop.

Voaters use imgur because they are lazy fatties.

The people who upgoat these threads and the people who post are two different sets of people. I imagine there's some crossover, but probably not all that much.

Sli.mg never loads. Fix that shit and I might just use it. Until then it's imgur for me.

Imgur takes less than a second to upload through its API.
SLiMG takes more than 7 seconds on average and requires 2 requests for whatever retarded reason. If you call an inefficient piece of shit that's slower than Imageshack an "upgrade", it's probably because this is based on dogshit political goals.

I'm not going to use an inferior host run by an incompetent webmaster.
Imgur is simply superior when you take away all of your pitiful politics and libel.
