One point not yet mentioned:

The remain camp used some absolutely despicable tactics, including fearmongering, outright lies, rich liberal celebs patronisingly lecturing people on subjects they have no idea about themselves, threats of a 'punishment' budget if we left, and trying to make political capital from the murder of a young female MP.

Just as has happened in the USA with Trump, these tactics made a lot of people even more determined to give the establishment a bloody nose.

The fallout is spectacular; The PM resigned, The Chancellor of The Exchequer (once one of the most popular politicians in the country for his initial deft handling of Labours destruction of the economy) has destroyed his career thanks to aforementioned budget threat, and the Labour party is on the brink of all out civil war (probably the Tories too if truth be told)

Well mentioned. The Thames flotilla battle summed it up perfectly. Nigel Farage led a group of fishermen up the Thames in boats to protest EU fishing quotas that destroy their livelihoods. Bob Geldolf and a bunch of students turn up on a speedboat, shout abuse and raise two fingers at the fishermen. You could taste the contempt for working people.

Exactly! I am sick of being lectured about 'hardships' and 'tolerance' by fucking multi millionaires living in their literal gilded, gated palaces.
