I had my youngest at 34

My dad had me in his late 40s. Late 40s though, like 48; not 79. And my ma was some 11 years younger.

BUT there's this: "After trying unsuccessfully to conceive, they adopted a boy in the 1980s, but he went to study in the US and never returned." This couple did adopt. What's up with that??

I know right?

One, how come they are not over the raising a child thing?

Two, how come the child doesn't love them?

Although, without more info it's all speculation, so there's no point really.

Oh for sure! My best friend's mom had him in her late forties, and my son's best friend currently is a little girl being raised by her grandmother. Both women are great moms. But they were still decades younger than this couple.

And yeah, it's impossible to know wtf this couple was thinking, or why that adoption 30 years ago didn't work out. It just makes me wonder. They knew the laws, even if the law is ridiculous. Why did they wait till their old age to with around then?

The whole thing is odd
