American celebrities threatening to run away to Canada is hardly new, and it's hardly partisan. Back when it was Obama v McCain saying they would pack up for Harper's Canada. It's all very tiresome.

I really couldn't find much on republicans moving to Canada in Obama beat McCain. Like some wag put it, it would be like hating Chinese and moving to China. Canada has been seen to be a liberal escape point since at least the 1960's.

I'm sure Canada doesn't want them any more than we do. I wonder why the racist cunts don't go to Mexico instead? Never mind, I answered my own question.

I wish the beaver wall had kept Bieber in, though I understand pushing him out.

Okay, I'm going to offer this as a possible genesis: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_and_the_Vietnam_War#Draft_dodgers

Mind you, that draft-dodging routine that they took advantage of? Don't bet on that play working again. The Canadian government would be very hesitant to piss off the American government, even with someone like Trudeau in charge. There have been changes to Canadian immigration law as well. Draft dodgers would be lucky to be left in a legal limbo in Canada, if not outright shipped back to the dismal side of the 49th in short order.

As a Canadian I would not look forward to the mass exodus of "celebrities" from the US into my homeland.

But then again, I've heard that kind of shit from the left for 30 plus years that I've taken an interest in US politics so I know that the number who will move will be defined by the following equation: N=0 .

Not just the left. Many were saying they'd leave if obamacare was enacted.

Exactly. This is the excuse from every side anything something they don't like looks like it's going to happen. Canada is always the magical answer.

As a Newfoundlander I know they will not be coming to my neck of the world even if they do move to Canada.I think Lena Dunham should move in with Trudeau.he deserves her.

I wish I live in Newfoundland. Montreal has been overrun.
