After Crackle announced the Ads and the fact that you can't look away and the fact the headsets know when you're wearing them, I don't want it. I'll get the 3D vision 2 Nvidia glasses instead. Cheaper for the time being. I have the rig that can run it just fine but I can't get past the ads that are coming to it.

The quality of games is horrible as well. Nothing out now even looks fun to me. The only thing I might use it for regularly is to watch movies. Other than that I am not interested at this time. Way too much money for it currently as well.

3D vision 2 Nvidia glasses

I hadn't heard of these. Are they a 3D glasses + monitor type setup?

I have 2 x 3D vision ASUS 24 inch Monitors and the glasses run around 100 to 150 bucks for the sensor / glasses kit. I could have a pretty decent setup if I go forward with it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814998061

Crackle ads have absolutely nothing to do with htc vive. A quick google search will show. Here: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=%2BHtc+%2Bvive+%2Bcrackle+%2Bads

Google searched this and it seems the crackle ads are only for playstations VR. The article I read specifically mentioned that crackle (which is basically sonys version of netflix) will have ads, but has no support for Oculus rift and doesnt even mention HTC vive.

This I understand. However, if it can be developed for one there is no stopping ad companies from developing it for the others. I won't buy one atm due to this very issue and will wait for 6 months to a year to see what comes of this, if anything.

Thanks for trying to look smart and make me look bad. Anyone who buys this first round is a beta tester, nothing more, nothing less.
